Passing
Research Project / Ongoing
Passing is an interactive installation in public space that aims to raise awareness of the constant presence of short-haul flights. The pole lights up, tilts towards approaching planes and follows them on their short journey. Passing does not stand still, does not fade out and by its constant movement visualizes the frequency of this avoidable cause of climate-damaging emissions.

The screenshot above shows the web based control software which lets you set the target angle of the pole and several configuration options (left menu). It also lets you take control over the lighting (right menu). Several presets are already available for the position and the lighting. An option to control the lighting via a midi controller is also implemented.
